MPV at Capital Pride, 2010! We marched with our fellow citizens here in Ottawa, supporting the lgbt community at Capital Pride this year. The crowd cheered, reading the words, "Allah Loves Us All". Always in our hearts, as we marched, we remembered our Queer Muslim brothers and sisters in Islam, who are marginalized and isolated by Muslims communities in the West and persecuted in Muslim countries under morality laws abroad. We must all speak out against the injustices suffered by Muslim Queers everywhere. Liberal interpretations of our scriptures tell us that Allah loves us all and that rape is a sin, but homosexuality is not. We invite everyone, Muslim and non Muslim, gay and straight, to speak out, in support of Muslim Queers. We invite everyone - especially our fellow Muslims, gay and straight, to give to our children, the gift of a love for all of humanity. It is the only way to arm them to fend off radicalization and hatred in our community. Allah swt loves us all.
